Miquel Roqué Farrero , also Miki Roqué , (born July 8, 1988 in Lleida , † June 24, 2012 in Barcelona ) was a Spanish football player .
Life
Career
The defensive player began his professional football career at UE Lleida in his native Spain. In August 2005, Miki Roqué signed a contract with Liverpool FC . Roqué made his first major appearance on December 5, 2006 against Galatasaray Istanbul in the Champions League when he was substituted on in the final stages of the game.
In summer 2009 he moved to Betis Sevilla in the Spanish Segunda División .
Sickness and death
On March 5, 2011, he was diagnosed with a malignant pelvic tumor disease . Miki Roqué succumbed to the disease on June 24, 2012 in a clinic in Barcelona. During the semi-final match against Portugal at the 2012 European Football Championship on June 27, 2012, the players of the Spanish national football team played in his honor with a black ribbon .
