Mirabela Dina

Ana Mirabela Dina (born January 31, 1976 in Craiova , Romania ) is a Romanian pianist .

Life

Mirabela Dina received her first piano lessons at the age of four. In 1986 she made her concert debut with the Craiova State Philharmonic Orchestra and the Piano Concerto in D major by Joseph Haydn . She was a prize winner at piano competitions in Stresa , Italy 1984 (1st prize), Cantù , Italy 1991 (2nd prize), Waki, Japan 1995 (1st prize).

After 1990 she played in Italy, France, Germany, Great Britain and the USA and went to Cologne in 1995 to study with Karin Merle at the Cologne Music Academy . In 1998 she made her double debut in Berlin with WA Mozart's Coronation Concerto KV 537 in the Berlin Philharmonic accompanied by the German Symphony Orchestra and in the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt with the B flat major piano concerto by Johannes Brahms .

In September 1999 Mirabela Dina won first prize at the first “Concurso internacional de piano Martha Argerich ” in Buenos Aires . Afterwards she had a guest performance in Montreal and played the 2nd piano concerto by L. v. Beethoven accompanied by the Orchester Symphonique de Montréal under Charles Dutoit . She also appeared five times in the "Master Pianists" series in cooperation with the WDR .

Further appearances followed in Beppu , Buenos Aires , 2003 in Lugano and 2007 in Paris . During this time she also made various radio recordings, including for BR and WDR .

Between 2007 and 2017 she was a lecturer at the Cologne Music School. Ana Mirabela Dina has been professor for piano at the University of Music in Würzburg since October 2017.
