Miranda Bonansea

Miranda Bonansea (actually Miranda Garavaglia ; born October 31, 1926 in Mondovì ; † February 10, 2019 in Rome ) was an Italian child actress and voice actress .

Life

Bonansea came from a family of artists (her father was Leo Garavaglia ) and was familiar with the stage from an early age; soon, at the age of seven, she made her debut in La cieca di Sorrento in the title role of the little girl who became mute after her mother's death. In the following years she received several roles in the style of the then popular Shirley Temple , as their Italian edition Bonansea was marketed. In Fermo con le mani she appeared as a pure copy of the American in appearance, clothing and gestures. Only her last film, which she showed at the age of 15 after a three-year hiatus and as a frivolous student, gave her the opportunity to present herself independently.

Bonansea appeared on stage in 1940 in a production by the University of Rome directed by Gerardo Guerrieri alongside Giulietta Masina in a Thornton Wilder play . In 1942/43 she was involved in the successful radio show Terziglio .

After the war, there were no acting offers and Bonansea became a busy first-generation voice actress, working for June Allyson , Donna Reed , Jean Simmons , Arlene Dahl and others, but also compatriots such as Milly Vitale , Rossana Podestà and Marisa Allasio in theirs early films whose Italian voice became and remained active into the new millennium, also for television. In 2009 she was awarded the Italian “Grand Prix for Synchronization” and the “Gran Galà del Doppiaggio” for her lifetime achievement.

Bonansea was married to the singer Claudio Villa from 1952 to 1962 ; the marriage from which a son was born was divorced.
