Mirja Dorny (born Mirja Kothe on June 17, 1985 in Bochum ) is a German soccer player . The midfielder currently plays for the Bochum club SC Union-Bergen.

Career

Mirja Dorny started her career at RW Markania Bochum at the age of 14; previously she only demonstrated her skills in interaction with boys on the street. Like many street footballers, she has deficits in the areas of headball and bipod, but has excellent technical skills and enormous speed. In December 2000 she moved to TuS Harpen . During her engagement there she became a youth national team player and in March 2002 she played her first international match for the U17 national team against Canada in the USA. This was followed by further international matches against the USA, Denmark and the Netherlands in preparation for the U-17 Nordic Cup in summer 2002. Dorny was unable to take part in the tournament due to a torn ligament in his ankle.

In the summer of 2002 she moved to the then regional division club SG Wattenscheid 09 , before moving to the first division club FCR 2001 Duisburg after internal quarrels . There she developed into a regular player and was regularly invited to courses and international matches for the U-19 national team.

On May 31, 2003 she stood on the lawn of the Berlin Olympic Stadium in the DFB Cup final against 1. FFC Frankfurt . The game was lost with an own goal by the then captain of FCR Duisburg Martina Voss shortly before the end with 0: 1. In the 2003/04 season she became a fixture in the FCR Duisburg team. However, a meniscus injury to her right knee in January 2004 set her back. After her return, she played her way back into the first team, but due to her training in the summer of 2004, she moved to SG Essen-Schönebeck , which was promoted to the Bundesliga that year .

In the first season the Schönebecker could just prevent the direct relegation; in the second season they finished sixth. Mirja Dorny was elected player of the season in Essen that year and won the Nordic Cup with the U21 national team in summer 2006.

A year later she moved back to the regional league team TuS Harpen, where she acted as the captain, due to the workload. In the 2010/11 season she played for the women's team at VfL Bochum . Dorny has been with SC Union-Bergen since 2012/13, with whom she was promoted to the district league in the 2012/13 season and to the state league in 2013/14.

Private

After graduating from high school in 2004, Mirja Dorny began training as a clerk in real estate and housing, which she completed in June 2007.

On August 8, 2014 she married Roger Dorny (trainer of the DJK Adler Riemke).
