The German national soccer team of U-21 women represented Germany in international women's soccer . The national team was founded in 1990 as the U-19 national team. In the summer of 1992 the age limit was raised to 20 and in 1999 to 21 years. In 2007 the national team was dissolved and replaced by the U-23 national team .
Since neither FIFA nor UEFA had created an official competition for the U-21 female age group, the Nordic Cup was the most important date for these teams to compete among the strongest European associations, including the US association Determine winners. The Nordic Cup was thus an unofficial European championship. From 1998 to 2006 the tournament was reserved for the U21 female age group. The US national team won the Nordic Cup seven times in a row from 1999 to 2005; the first winner was the Norwegian selection team, the last winner was the German selection team.
