Mission Adler - The strong arm of the gods ( Chinese  飛鷹 計劃 , English Armor of God II: Operation Condor ) is an action and martial arts film filmed in Hong Kong in 1990 with Jackie Chan as director, stunt coordinator and leading actor.

Adventurer Jackie (Adler) is still traveling around the world collecting art treasures. During a stay in Madrid , his old friend Count Bannon gave him the job of looking for a gold treasure in the Sahara that was deposited there by a unit of German soldiers during the Second World War . The gold treasure belongs to the UN, but is claimed by various states and organizations. He receives a mysterious key and with the help of two women, the expert Ada and Elsa , the granddaughter of the commanding German officer of the unit, goes in search of the treasure. In the outer areas of the desert, the globetrotter Momoko joins the group.

After a few problems with slave traders, fanatical but also clumsy freedom fighters and the mercenary troops of a man who is also after the gold, they can finally find the hiding place for the gold bars. This is located in a secret underground base that has been abandoned since the end of the war. There you will find the officer's skeleton. In his diary there is a hint as to which code is needed besides the key to open the armored gate, the only access to the gold treasure. But the private army of the pursuer arrives and takes the adventurers prisoner. The old stranger sitting in a wheelchair, who turns out to be the only survivor of the troops of soldiers at the time, is betrayed by his mercenaries. The military facility has a large wind tunnel in which an aircraft, a further development of the V1 , is ready for testing. When the wind tunnel is turned on by the women, Jackie fights the mutineers under very high wind speeds. However, the women accidentally trigger the complex's self-destruct mechanism.

The former soldier names the ventilation shaft as the only way out. He turns the fan to maximum power. This rips the aircraft out of its anchorage and destroys the large ventilation flaps to the shaft. Jackie and his three companions are pulled to the surface of the desert by the air current. Immediately afterwards the facility is destroyed by a large explosion and buried in the desert sand along with the soldier.

  • The first film in the series is The Right Arm of the Gods .
  • Although Golden Harvest promised Jackie Chan a bonus if he made the film for under $ 40 million in under six months, he was on the wallet of time and money. Ultimately, it took two years to shoot and cost 115 million Hong Kong dollars ($ 15 million). This made it the most expensive film ever produced in Hong Kong at the time.
  • The shooting was very problematic, the desert sand regularly settled in the equipment, a crew member was stung by a scorpion and at times over 50 crew members were ill. In addition, the film team in Morocco was robbed by locals. They stole the play money, which was specially printed with a Golden Harvest logo, and put it into circulation, which is why the Production Manager had to go to jail for three months despite a number of lawyers employed.
