With skin and hair ( Bare Bones ) is the sixth detective novel by the American author Kathy Reichs . It was published in July 2003 by Scribner Verlag , and the German translation by Klaus Berr was published by Karl Blessing Verlag in March 2004.

The forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance "Tempe" Brennan discovers bear bones in the garden of a remote farmhouse and a short time later a human corpse without a head or hands.
