Drive to Hell ( Flash and Bones ) is the 14th detective novel by US author Kathy Reichs . It was published in 2011 by Scribner Verlag , the German translation by Klaus Berr was also published in 2011 by Karl Blessing Verlag . The discovery of a body in a garbage dump near Charlotte Motor Speedway prompted Dr. Temperance Brennan to reopen an investigation into an unsolved case over a decade old.
