Mitch Versteeg (born November 3, 1988 in Lethbridge , Alberta ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK Nitra in the Slovakian Extra League since 2016 . His brother Kris is also a hockey player.

Career

Mitch Versteeg began his career as a hockey player in his hometown with the Lethbridge Hurricanes , for which he was active in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League from 2006 to 2009 . The defender was then committed by the Kalamazoo Wings from the ECHL , for which he scored five goals and provided 18 assists in a total of 68 games. In the 2009/10 season , the right-shooter was also in three games for Kalamazoo's cooperation partner Worcester Sharks in the American Hockey League on the ice, in which he remained pointless and received two penalty minutes.
