Mithat Şükrü Bleda (* 1874 in Thessaloniki , Vilâyet Saloniki , † February 19, 1956 in Istanbul ) was a Young Turkish politician of the Ottoman Empire and a prominent member of the Committee for Unity and Progress from Macedonia .

Life

Mithat Şükrü Bleda was born in 1872 in the Ottoman city of Thessaloniki - today in Greece . He was a member of the Committee for Unity and Progress (KEF), and then the Hürriyet , and was elected to Parliament for Serres in the 1908 Ottoman House of Representatives elections. In the 1912 elections he was for drama , and in the election in 1914 of Burdur in the Chamber of Deputies elected.

Mithat Şükrü Bleda was one of the leading figures in the Second Constitutional Era of the Ottoman Empire. In 1915 he became Minister of Education. In 1919 he was sent into exile in Malta by the British military government during the occupation of Istanbul . From 1935 to 1950 Mithat Şükrü Bleda was a member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly for Sivas Province .

He was buried on the Abide-i Hürriyet .
