Mittelland - Die Legende der Elfen ( English title: Shadow of the Elves ) is a German-English animated series by BAF Berlin Animation Film . The series is about a group of elves who try to defend their land from the evil goblins .
action
The elves live in a flower paradise, viewed from the perspective of these microscopic beings. They are responsible for maintaining the idyll by caring for the plants and looking after nature. They also take the help of insects and animals, which are usually larger than they are. Their elf village is guarded by the magic of the Salmacis, their guardian spirit, who live in their sacred pond. However, the quiet of the country is soon disturbed when a group of goblins set out to conquer the Central Plateau. They are led by their commander, Lord Kann, who knows no mercy. Colonel Daiman, leader of the war troops, is a young warrior whom the protagonist Thalia later falls in love with. Daiman also seems to have feelings for her. Thalia and Daiman meet secretly several times to discuss the war, but also to get closer. It starts a long war that Thalia and her friends are determined to end.
Characters
Elves
Thalia is an elf with a strong character and self-confidence. Together with her friends, she wants to mediate between the goblins and elves and try to make peace. Over time, she falls in love with Daiman, with whom she later secretly meets. She is liked by everyone in the village (with the exception of Phaedon) and is a role model for many. When someone is in trouble, she is there right away.
Atticus is the general of the Elven Guardians, an Elven councilor and Thalia's father. Together with his men he tries everything to guard the village from intruders.
Rowan is Thalia's little brother. He likes to practice shooting with a bow and arrow and would love to be part of his father's guard. In Daiman he finds a good friend who gives Rowan tips on archery. Later he takes an entrance exam as a guard.
Luna is a very good friend of Thalia and Nayade and loves fashion.
Nayade is a very good friend of Thalia and Luna. She also loves fashion and likes to make perfumes .
Menel is the chairman of the elven council and the village elder. He is so old that he has stopped counting his age. In crisis situations, he calls the members of the council together to find solutions to problems such as: B. environmental disasters, discrepancies, etc. to find. Sometimes he asks the Guardian Spirit Salmacis for advice.
Fala is a member of the Elven Council and the village's healer. She loves to help Thalia and is like a mother.
Phaedon is a member of the Elven Council and a goblin spy who is well versed in the art of magic. For a long time none of the elves knew about his misdeeds. However, he is not entirely on the side of the goblins, because he too is pursuing the goal of becoming ruler of the Central Plateau.
Salmacis is the guardian spirit of the Holy Spring and watches over the elf village. She is very wise and is there to help and advise the people. Menel asks the Water Spirit for help as a last resort when the Elven Council has no other way out. As an oracle, Salmacis is also happy to help Thalia personally and has a friendly relationship with her.
Clover is a guardian student of the elves. During the time she, Rowan and Fern take the service entrance exam, Rowan falls madly in love with her.
Fern is a Guardian student and a good friend of Rowan's.
As the name suggests, Hummler is a bumblebee who often plays with Rowan and helps the elves with their work. Like all other insects and animals, Hummler cannot speak, but can still understand everything that is said to him.
Goblins
The goblins came to the Mittelland through an "unknown magic", where they live in a dark, withered area. Their real realm of goblins, from which they come, is very harmonious and beautiful. Unlike the elves, the goblins do not have wings.
Daiman , also called Colonel Daiman by his people , is the commander in chief of the goblin soldiers. Together with his partners Shil and Balabust he tries to obey Lord Kann's orders as best he can. Over time, he and Thalia get closer, whereupon they fall in love and often meet in secret. Often he promises Thalia that he will not harm the elves, but he keeps breaking his promise, which puts their friendship to the test.
Shil is (presumably) the only woman in the whole goblin group. She is very dominant and confident, and her fighting skills are excellent. She takes her role as a soldier very seriously and does not want to disappoint Lord Kann.
Balabust is a very good friend of Daiman's, with whom he also shares a room. He's pretty much the most humorous in the group and doesn't always take his role seriously.
Can , or Lord Can, is the lord of the goblins. His goal is to make the Mittelland his own, and any means are fine with him. He sits mostly on his throne, waiting for his assistant Snakehammer, a mad inventor, to come up with something new that can help Lord Kann achieve his goal. He often sends his three best warriors, Daiman, Balabust and Shil, on specific missions. He is very sarcastic and merciless. However, he loves his house dragon Creeper very much.
Snakehammer is Lord Kann's mad scientist and always needs new inventions to please his commander. However, many of his inventions backfire.
Creeper is Kann's little house dragon. His master would never allow anything to happen to him. However, Snakehammer is often driven insane by the animal.
Trolls
The trolls do not side with the elves or the goblins. They do their own thing and dream of a large metropolis with all kinds of modern equipment. They are indifferent to what happens to nature in the process. You live in a large junkyard and can make something useful out of anything.

Vincent the slim one.
Quake , the troll king.
Jorgle , slight , tiny and cheeky. Quake often carries it on his shoulder and acts as an advisor.
