The Mkomazi (also Mkomasi) is a river in northeastern Tanzania in the Kilimanjaro region . It is a tributary of the Pangani .

Its headwaters are in the southern Pare Mountains and it drains parts of the Mkomazi National Park as well as the western and southern Usambara Mountains . It flows through the Ngundu-Damm , Kihurio Lake and Manka Lake . At the level of Lake Manka, it is only about 4 km away from Pangani, which at that time was 85 m higher. The two rivers run almost parallel on their way until they converge about 60 km further at Korogwe .
