Mladen Bogić (born February 25, 1949 in Ljubljana ) is a Slovenian railway journalist and railway museum designer.

Life

Mladen Bogić, son of a Slovenian mother and a Croatian father, grew up in Ljubljana, where he attended school and passed the high school diploma with a focus on physics (subject: steam locomotive). Although he considered studying technology, he decided to study foreign languages (German and literary history) at the Faculty of Philosophy in Ljubljana, where he earned the title of (secondary school) professor through his diploma. Following his interest in the railways, he joined the Slovenian railways in 1977. When the museum department was set up within the framework of the Slovenian Railway in 1981, he was appointed to head it. His focus was / is on the construction and expansion of the railway museum in the former boiler house II (ex KRB or UKB) in Ljubljana, which in 1982 still functioned purely as a branch of the main workshop. In 2004 the first expansion stage of the railway museum was completed and made fully accessible to the public.

Bogić always attached importance to cross-border cooperation, especially with the Austrian, but also with related German, Hungarian and Italian institutions. In doing so, he kept the well-being of the historic vehicles in the first place in view of the national-museum egoism: With his active support, the return of the steam locomotive JŽ 10-005 to Austria, where there was better chance of survival for the locomotive, to the company B&B, where it was then worked up under its original number 33.132. The same applies to the kkStB 80.179, which has been a long-term loan in Knittelfeld since 1994 , and also to the SŽ 06-013 , which has been in the "Rundhaus Europa" in Bahnpark Augsburg since 2006 . The Southern Railway Museum in Mürzzuschlag also has more than 30 historical objects on loan from the collection of the Slovenian Railway Museum.
