Mohamed Masoud

Mohamed Masoud (born January 11, 1984 ) is an Egyptian weightlifter .

He was Junior World Champion in 2002 and 2003. In 2004 he took part in the Olympic Games in Athens and reached eleventh place in the super heavyweight division. At the 2005 World Championships , he was fifth. In 2008 he won the gold medal at the African Championships. At the 2009 World Championships he was fifth again and seventh at the 2010 World Championships . In 2011 Masoud was first at the Universiade . However, he was tested positive for methylhexanamine during the doping control , disqualified and banned for two years. After his suspension, he finished fourth at the 2013 World Championships . At the World Championships in 2014 he won bronze at the Africa Games 2015 gold.
