The Mohrbach is a 14.9 km long right tributary of the Glan in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Kaiserslautern .

The Mohrbach rises in the north of Landstuhl at an altitude of 237  m above sea level. NHN in the immediate vicinity of the A6 motorway. First, the stream flows east along the motorway, but after around one kilometer it turns its course in a wide curve to the west. The stream flows through the area of Ramstein Air Base , where nature reserves have been set up in part. After flowing through the communities of Ramstein-Miesenbach , Steinwend and Niedermohr , the stream flows at 209  m above sea level. NHN in the Glan.

On its 14.9 km long path, the stream overcomes a height difference of 28 m, which corresponds to a mean bed gradient of 1.9 ‰. It drains its 101.634 km² catchment area via Glan, Nahe and Rhine to the North Sea , which is why the brook belongs to the river system of the Rhine. Most of the West Palatinate Moorniederung belongs to the catchment area .

Tributaries

The most important tributary of the Mohrbach is the Floßbach , which flows into the Mohrbach on the premises of the Ramstein Air Base. With a catchment area of ​​24.922 km², it accounts for around a quarter of the catchment area of ​​the Mohrbach. Shortly after the mouth of the Floßbach, water is knocked off into the Kindsbacher Graben . Other tributaries with a catchment area of ​​more than 10 km² are Krebsbach and Schwanderbach .
