The Floßbach is a 7.2 km long right tributary of the Mohrbach in the Western Palatinate ( Rhineland-Palatinate ).
geography
The stream rises in the west of the city of Kaiserslautern at an altitude of about 246 m above sea level. NHN around 1 km south of Autobahn 6 between junctions 15 (Kaiserslautern West) and 14 (Einsiedlerhof). From here, the stream flows primarily in a westerly direction through the Landstuhler Bruch in the Kaiserslautern district , crossing under the A 6, and flows into the Mohrbach on the right-hand side at the Ramstein Air Base at an altitude of 232 m .
On its 7.2 km course, the Floßbach overcomes a height difference of 14 m, which corresponds to an average bed gradient of 1.9 ‰. The catchment area has a size of 24.922 km². Numerous irrigation and drainage ditches with a maximum length of 500 m collect in the Floßbach . In Kaiserslautern-Einsiedlerhof, the Floßbach is dammed up to form a small lake with an area of over 1 hectare.
