Molinology
The molinology (from Latin Molina = mill and Greek λόγος = Customer, teaching , German mill customer -lehre or -wesen ) is the discipline that deals with construction and operation, history and culture of mills and the Müllereihandwerk concerned. One focus is on the preservation of historic muscle , water and windmills .
description
The term molinology was coined in 1965 at the first symposium of the International Molinological Society , the global umbrella organization for mill science.
In order to promote public interest and to provide information, the molinological clubs and associations advocate the establishment of mill museums and the designation of holiday routes, cycling and hiking trails on the subject of mills. They organize public mill days such as the German Mill Day as well as specialist conferences for mill friends and mill builders .
