The Molokai Airport ( IATA code: MKK; ICAO code : PHMK ) is a public, from the US state of Hawaii operated airport , which is 12.3 km northwest of Kaunakakai on the island of Molokai is. It is the main airport on the island.

Infrastructure and planes

Molokai Airport covers an area of ​​117 hectares and is 138 meters above sea level on the main plateau of Molokai Island . The airport has two asphalt runways on which both civil and military flights are started or ended.

The passenger terminal and the other airport facilities are located north of the intersection of the two runways. Accessibility to the building is ensured by separate streets, each of which is connected to Keonelele Avenue.

Between May 2010 and April 2011, the airport recorded a total of 49,804 aircraft movements (136 per day): 59% general aviation , 40% air taxi and 1% military . At that time, four single-engine aircraft were stationed in the Molokai.
