Molybdenum arsenide is a chemical compound from the group of arsenides . In addition to this, at least two further molybdenum arsenides are known with Mo 2 As 3 and Mo 5 As 4 .

Extraction and presentation

Molybdenum arsenide can be obtained by reacting molybdenum with arsenic at 570 ° C.

properties

Molybdenum arsenide is a black solid that becomes superconducting at 0.41 K. The connection has a monoclinic crystal structure with the space group C 2 / m (space group no. 12) . It resembles molybdenum phosphide in its properties as it is insoluble in concentrated hydrochloric acid or ammoniacal hydrogen peroxide , but easily soluble in nitric acid , hot concentrated sulfuric acid or aqua regia .
