Mona Asuka Ott

Mona Asuka Ott (* 1991 in Munich ; stage name Mona Asuka ) is a German - Japanese pianist . She is the younger sister of Alice Sara Ott .

Life

Like her sister, Mona Asuka Ott was taught by Karl-Heinz Kämmerling at the Salzburg Mozarteum . Since 2009 she has been studying with Bernd Glemser at the University of Music in Würzburg . She has received several grants, including from the Degussa Foundation and the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben . Mona Asuka Ott performed in September 2008 at the special concert of the “Piano furioso” foundation in the small hall of Hamburg's Laeiszhalle .

At the age of six she was already the winner of the international competition " Classica Nova In Memoriam Dmitri Shostakowitsch " (Hanover, 1997). The artist received first prizes at the Grotrian-Steinweg competition in Braunschweig , the national youth music competition and the EPTA International Piano Competition in Osijek . She was a finalist at the 11th International Piano Academy Competition in Hamamatsu (Japan) in 2006. At the Kissinger Piano Olympics in 2006 she received the audience award.

Mona Asuka Ott joined, among others, the Ruhr Piano Festival, the Festival La Roque-d'Anthéron , the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern , the Kissinger Sommer on Festival, the Franconian Music Days and the Braunschweig Classix.

She had orchestral appearances with the Staatskapelle Halle , the Hofer Symphoniker , the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra , the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra , the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz and the Munich Symphony Orchestra .
