Monika Boehm

Monika Böhm (* 1960 in Hofheim am Taunus ) is a German legal scholar and professor of public law and European law at the Philipps University in Marburg . Her academic focus is on environmental law . She is also state attorney at the Hessian State Court in Wiesbaden .

Life

Monika Böhm passed the first state examination in 1985 and the second state examination in 1989 . In the same year she received her doctorate on the subject of the effectiveness of environmental taxes using the example of the wastewater tax law. She then worked as a research assistant at the Justus Liebig University in Gießen , where in 1995 she was granted the license to teach public law, administrative theory and European law. Monika Böhm was awarded the Franz Vogt Prize in 1996 for her habilitation thesis Der Normensch . In the same year she was appointed university professor at the Martin Luther University in Halle . In 2000, she was initially offered a C4 professorship at the University of Konstanz before accepting the chair for constitutional and administrative law in Marburg , which she has held since then.

From 2000 to 2003 Monika Böhm was a member of the risk commission of the federal government, from 2001 to 2003 a member of the government commission NRW "Future of the Public Service - Public Service of the Future". Visiting professorships at universities in the USA and Japan followed . In 2009 she was elected state attorney at the Hessian State Court. She has been a member of the Foundation Board of the Environmental Energy Law Foundation since 2015 .
