Monika Gawron

Monika Gawron (born January 7, 1946 in Liegnitz / Silesia ) is a German SPD politician and former member of the Hamburg parliament .

Life

After her secondary school leaving certificate, Gawron trained as a hotel manager at the Hotel Recishhof in Hamburg. She later worked as an administrative clerk.

She got involved in the Hamburg-Veddel district and was also the initiator of preserving the last remaining emigration hall on the Veddel and converting it into a museum.

politics

She has been with the SPD since 1978 and has been chairwoman of the Hamburg-Veddel district since 1991 . She was also a member of the Hamburg-Mitte district assembly .

From 1991 to 2001 she was in the Hamburg parliament. In 1991 she came to parliament as a replacement for party colleagues . In the meantime, she had to give up her place there because of returned senators . In terms of citizenship, she was on the Committee on the Situation and Rights of Foreigners, the Committee on Equal Opportunities for Women and the Committee on Labor and Social Affairs. Her focus was also on working for disadvantaged districts such as the Veddel, her chosen area.
