Monika Knill-Kradolfer

Monika Knill-Kradolfer (born March 12, 1972 ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ). She has been a member of the government of the Canton of Thurgau since June 1, 2008 and heads the Department of Education and Culture.

biography

Monika Knill grew up in Alterswilen in the municipality of Kemmental and is a citizen of Appenzell and Erlen . She is married to Josef Knill and has two daughters. She lives in Alterswilen. Monika Knill completed the compulsory schooling in the Canton of Thurgau and then did an apprenticeship as a medical practice assistant . Later she trained as an administrative economist.

Monika Knill started her political career in 1996 as a councilor in Kemmental, where she was also a deputy councilor from 1998 until she took office as a councilor. In 2003 Knill was elected to the Grand Council for the SVP and from 2006 she was parliamentary group president of the SVP parliamentary group. In 2008 she was elected to the government council as successor to Hans Peter Ruprecht . There she took over the Department of Education and Culture from Jakob Stark , who moved to the Department of Building and Environment.
