Monin is a French company best known for its liqueur and syrup products. Monin is one of the world's leading suppliers of syrups, liqueurs and iced tea concentrates. The company's headquarters are in Bourges .

Monin products are mainly used in the catering industry, for example in bars , restaurants and discos . They are mainly used in the production of cocktails . The company offers syrups in more than 100 different flavors.

history

The company was founded in 1912 by Georges Monin (1893–1944). In the 1930s Monin became one of the leading French syrup suppliers and then expanded into other European countries and the Caribbean in the following years. In 1945 George Monin's son Paul took over the management of the company. After 1945 further international branches were opened in Morocco, Malta, Tunisia and West Africa. In 1947 the company sold over 3 million bottles of syrup products. In 1974 the mark of 4 million bottles was reached.

From 1987 Paul Monin planned to hand over the management of the company to his son Olivier, who has been running the company since 1992.

In 1993 Monin founded a subsidiary in the USA and opened a production facility in Clearwater , Florida in 1996 .

Monin is a member of the International Bartenders Association . In 2005 Monin opened a location in Singapore for the Asian market. The following year, the company acquired the French manufacturer Guiot Flavorings. In 2007 a location was established in Dubai . In 2009 a new production facility was opened in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and a sales office in Shanghai .

After sales amounted to EUR 80 million in 2009, it rose to EUR 110 million in 2011. The company operates in 140 countries around the world and generates 75% of its sales in exports, with Asia in particular being a major growth market.
