The Monnier-iris ( Iris × monnieri ) is a plant of the genus Iris ( Iris ) within the family of the Iridaceae (Iridaceae). The species is probably a hybrid of Iris orientalis and Iris xanthospuria .
features
The Monnier iris is a perennial rhizome plant that reaches heights of 100 to 200 centimeters. The leaves are about two feet long. The flowers are 12 to 18 centimeters in diameter, fragrant and lemon yellow. The plate of the hanging leaves is round and has a diameter of 3.5 centimeters. The lobes of the stylus branches are broadly triangular, 4 to 5 millimeters long and strongly bent back.
The flowering period extends from June to July.
Occurrence
The Monnier Iris occurs in southern Turkey on banks and in swamp meadows.
