Monroe City (Missouri) is a small town in the American state of Missouri at the junction of three counties : ( Monroe , Ralls and Marion Counties ).

The city was founded in 1869 and had 2588 inhabitants at the 2000 census .

Several structures in this city are on the National Register of Historic Places .
