Mont-Aux-Sources , on Sesotho Phofung , is a mountain in Africa . It is part of the Drakensberg and lies on the border between Lesotho and South Africa .
Mont-Aux-Sources (roughly: "Mountain of the Sources") was named after the French missionary Thomas Arbousset , who visited the region in 1836. The top of the mountain is flat and reaches a height of 3282 m. On the mountain are the sources of the Tugela , the Vaal River and the Orange River . The Orange River flows into the Atlantic Ocean on the west coast of South Africa, while the Tugela flows into the Indian Ocean on the east coast of South Africa. 7 km from the source, the Tuguela falls 947 m over a series of individual waterfalls into the Royal Natal National Park . This is the second longest waterfall in the world.
The highest point can be reached from South Africa via the Sentinel Car Park near Witsieshoek via a simple hiking trail and several chain ladders.
