Montgomery is a city in Hamilton County and is located in the state of Ohio in the United States .

geography

The city is located 15 kilometers northeast of Cincinnati and to the highways Interstate 71 and Interstate 275 .

history

The region of what is now Montgomery was originally inhabited by Indians . After these were driven out by troops under General Anthony Wayne in 1794, the first settlers came to the area. These came from Montgomery in Orange County , New York State, and named the newly populated place Montgomery as well. The name goes back to Richard Montgomery . The inhabitants initially lived mainly from agriculture. Not until the 1960s, when nearby Cincinnati developed into an industrial metropolis, did the population of Montgomery increase significantly.

In 2009 there was a population of 10,581 people, which means an increase of 4.1% compared to 2000.
