The Montreal River is a river in central Saskatchewan , Canada .
It forms the drain of the Montreal Lake . From there it flows north to Lac la Ronge , which flows over the Rapid River to the Churchill River .
River course
The river begins at the north end of Montreal Lake, 3 miles north of the community of Molanosa and 2.5 miles west of Saskatchewan Highway 969 . It flows north, the Saskatchewan Highway 2 crosses the river at the level of the Montreal River Provincial Recreation Site . The river continues to flow north. The Saskatchewan Highway 165 crosses the river. The Montreal River turns east, flows through Partridge Crop Lake and Sikachu Lake, and reaches Egg Lake at Wawe Bay. It flows further east, flows through Bigstone Lake , crosses the Saskatchewan Highway 2 again, and finally reaches the Lac la Ronge between the municipalities of La Ronge and Air Ronge .
