Montaque Nasir "Monty" Brown (born April 13, 1970 in Bridgeport , Michigan ) is a retired American wrestler and American football player .

American football

NFL

Before his wrestling career, Brown played successfully in the National Football League (NFL) for the Buffalo Bills and the New England Patriots . After the 1993 season, Brown stood with the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXVIII . He reached Super Bowl XXXI with the Patriots three years later , but missed the game due to an ankle injury. After the season, he retired from the NFL to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming a wrestler.

Wrestling career

All World Wrestling League

After Brown finished his football career and recovered from his injury, he was trained by Sabu and then appeared in the All World Wrestling League.

TNA

In 2002, Brown made his debut as Monty Brown on TNA against Anthony Ingram. Brown then appeared regularly at TNA and was also allowed title matches for the NWA World Heavyweight Title and the NWA World Tag Team Title (together with Abyss ), but was not allowed to win these. During this time he also appeared several times in Prime Time Wrestling and was able to win the PTW Heavyweight Title there.

World Wrestling Entertainment

ECW

On January 16, 2007, Brown made his debut at ECW as Marquis Cor Von . Shortly afterwards his name was Marcus Cor Von . There he feuded together with Elijah Burke , Matt Striker , Kevin Thorn and Ariel as New Breed against the ECW Originals (consisting of Rob Van Dam , Sabu , Tommy Dreamer , The Sandman and Balls Mahoney). Together with Kevin Thorn, Brown competed in a Ten Teams Battle Royal for the World Tag Team Title, but could not win it. Brown injured himself in June 2007. During this hiatus, Brown asked to terminate his contract because of a family death.

Appearance at Professional Championship Wrestling

In June 2008, Brown appeared in Professional Championship Wrestling. Brown was actually only there to visit his friend Lance Hoyt . That was Brown's last appearance in wrestling for the time being.
