Moon Geun-young (born May 6, 1987 in Gwangju ) is a South Korean actress .

life and career

At the age of twelve, Moon began his career in front of the camera with a small role in the docu-drama On The Way . Moon became known beyond South Korea through her appearance on the television series Autumn Fairy Tale in 2000.

Moon played her first role in a film two years later, in Lover's Concerto . A year later followed a role in the award-winning horror film A Tale of Two Sisters , which made for a surge in popularity in her home country. Her subsequent role in the comedy My Little Bride (2004) earned her the media "title" as Korea's little sister ( 국민 여동생 Gungmin Yeodongsaeng 'Little Sister of the Nation'). In the film, she plays a 15-year-old high school girl who is getting married at her grandfather's request.

After graduating from Kukje High School , Moon has been studying Korean literature at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul since 2006 .

In 2015 she returned to film as Hyegyeong in Sado after a 9-year absence.

From December 2016 to January 2017 she played the lead role in the play Romeo and Juliet . However, she was operated on several times due to the compartment syndrome and had to cancel further presentations.
