Moorgarten (Lübeck)

Moorgarten is a district in Lübeck with around 1400 inhabitants. It is located in the district Niendorf-bog garden and by the " stud dominated bog garden". Moorgarten was temporarily the location of the mounted police in Lübeck.

location

Moorgarten is located on the southern outskirts of Lübeck, on the border with the districts of Stormarn and the district of Duchy of Lauenburg . Moorgarten belongs to the Moisling district of Lübeck .

history

The district was created in 1821 when parts of the “Niendorfer Heide”, which belonged to the Niendorf estate, were reclaimed. In 1827 30 land sites were set up for which the estate had to be paid a long lease . The settlement was called Moorgarten.

Infrastructure

The Moorgarten Stud has boarding houses, an 80 × 20 m indoor riding arena and extensive outdoor facilities with a place for show jumping and two places for dressage riding . Horseback rides can be made in the vicinity of the riding facility.

In 1999, the teaching area bog garden was circular hunters Lübeck launched in cooperation with the Lübeck Forest Service to life. The area is 230 hectares .
