Morgan 2010

Morgan (* 23. December 1972 in Milan as Marco Castoldi ) is an Italian musician. He became known as the frontman of Bluvertigo and was able to make a name for himself on Italian television as a casting show juror. In his solo career he was awarded two Targhe Tenco awards.

Career

Morgan initially worked as a duo with Andrea Fumagalli. They expanded the duo to a trio in 1989 and finally to the alternative rock band Bluvertigo in 1994 . The band released three albums and one compilation by 2001 and once took part in the Sanremo Festival without success . In 2003, Morgan kicked off his solo career with the album Canzoni dell'appartamento . For this he was awarded the Targa Tenco for the best debut. This was followed in 2004 by the soundtrack Il suono della vanità (to Alex Infascelli's Il siero della vanità ). The following year, Morgan covered Fabrizio De Andrés entire album Non al denaro, non all'amore, né al cielo from 1971, which earned him another Targa Tenco. In 2007 his next studio album, Da A… ad A, was released .

In 2008, Morgan began his longstanding tenure as a juror on the talent show X Factor ; he took on the task in seven issues of the program and was able to help “his” candidate win five times. He also recorded a live album for MTV in 2008 with Bluvertigo. After he had published the cover album Italian Songbook Vol. 1 in 2009, it was announced that he would take part in the Sanremo Festival with the song La sera for 2010, after which the second part of the songbook should appear. However, due to controversy over the singer's drug use, he was banned from the festival. Instead, he published the compilation Morganicomio ; Italian Songbook Vol. 2 only followed in 2012.

Morgan continued to serve as an X-Factor judge until 2014. Then he turned back to his band Bluvertigo and took part with them (again unsuccessfully) at the Sanremo Festival 2016 . In 2016 and 2017 he was again involved in a casting show, this time Amici di Maria De Filippi , until he publicly fell out with those responsible for Maria De Filippi . 2018 was overshadowed mainly by his public litigation with ex-wife Asia Argento , the release of another solo album that had been announced for the time being. In 2019 he worked as a coach on the talent show The Voice of Italy .
