The morning star , as a weapon from the group of maces , is a common figure in heraldry and can also be combined with another heraldic figure in a heraldic shield or heraldic field . This heraldic figure is not very common. The representation is based on the natural model and all heraldic colors are possible. Gold and silver are the preferred tinctures .

The morning star can be distinguished from the heraldic figure Pusikan and is also known as a spiked mace. It can also be in the upper coat of arms .
