Valeria Moriconi

Valeria Moriconi ; born Valeria Maria Abbruzzetti (born November 15, 1931 in Jesi , Marken , † June 15, 2005 ibid) was an Italian actress .

Life

Moriconi began her acting career at the theater, where she found success in both classic plays by William Shakespeare ( All's Well That Ends Well ) and in modern plays by Bertolt Brecht (The Life of Edward II of England ).

She made her screen debut in the mid- 1950s and took over 30 film roles by 2002. Her best-known films are Terror in Oklahoma ( Il Terrore dell'Oklahoma , 1959) and Rape in Chains ( A cavallo della tigre , 1961).

In the course of her career she has received many theater awards, including the renowned Simoni Critics' Prize . In 2002 she was named Grand 'Ufficiale della Repubblica by then President Oscar Luigi Scalfaro for her services to the Italian theater .
