Moritz Nussbaum

Moritz Nussbaum (born November 18, 1850 in Hörde ; † November 16, 1915 in Bonn ) was a Jewish-German professor of anatomy and biology at the Medical Faculty of the University of Bonn .

Life

Moritz Nussbaum was the son of Herz Hirsch Nussbaum and Zerline Lange and had four brothers and four sisters. He was married to Ida, nee Koppel, and had two sons, Heinrich and Robert and a daughter, Mathilde Zerlina. She was married to Otto Konrad Scholl , whose son was Peter Scholl-Latour . Moritz Nussbaum was therefore the grandfather of Peter Scholl-Latour.

He had been an assistant at the Bonn Anatomical Institute since 1875 and became an associate professor there in 1881 . He wrote numerous scientific papers.

On February 24, 1882 , he was accepted into the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina .

The Friends of Poppelsdorf History in Bonn honored him on the 100th anniversary of his death.
