criticism

When the ceremony to mark 30 years of the fall of the Berlin Wall was held, there was a scandal during a concert. Behind the singer Anna Loos a Hebrew lettering was faded in, which translates as: “End the occupation”. This saying is used in Israel as a criticism of the government of the country. Showing this lettering on the day the Berlin Wall fell coincided with the 81-year anniversary of the pogrom night. Moritz van Dülmen apologized for the incident. The lettering in the stage show broadcast by ZDF was part of an artistic video sequence about around 20 peaceful protest actions worldwide.
