Morning Boy is an indie pop group from Frankfurt am Main and Altenhain .

history

Morning Boy was founded in 2007 by Jörg Schmidt ( guitar , vocals , synthesizer ), Patrick Lange (guitar, synthesizer), Christian Preusser ( bass ) and Arrigo Reuss ( drums ). Under the name "Stonepines", a few concerts were played in the Rhine-Main region before they were renamed Morning Boy and for the release of the first EP For Us, The Drifters. For Them, The Bench. In 2008, the independent label Waggle-Daggle Records won. Numerous appearances in the Federal Republic of Germany followed.

In 2009 the producer and drummer Simon Rauland ( Verlen ) became aware of the band and recorded the single I Sold My Heart Today with the band, which was also released on Waggle-Daggle Records . After Rauland decided to produce the first long player with Morning Boy, Arrigo Reuss left the band for reasons of self-discovery, and Rauland took over the role of drummer.

The band changed their sound a bit and became more keyboard and electro heavy. 2010 began with the recordings for the LP We Won't Crush , which was recorded, produced and mixed as planned in the Fundindelve Recording Arts Studios by Simon Rauland. The album was mastered by Michael Schwabe ( Kettcar , Tocotronic , Einstürzende Neubauten ) at Monoposto Mastering Düsseldorf.

In June 2010 Christian Preusser decided to leave the band in order to devote more time to his studies and literature. Martin Heimann was then hired as the new bass player, and preparations began for the album's release.

In June 2010 the Federal Republic of Germany was won as a sponsor with the Music Initiative .

In November 2010, the band released the music video produced by Alain Cinematics for the track Tripping Children , which was featured on the album and was supported by Pro Sieben , Myspace , Dailymotion and other video portals.

The album We Won't Crush was released on November 26, 2010.

Morning Boy were on the opening act on the 2011 "Frei" tour of the Dresden pop group Polarkreis 18 . In July of the same year they also played the support slot for Bon Jovi's concert on the Mannheim Maimarkt area.
