Morning View is the fourth studio album by the American rock band Incubus . The album was released in October 2001 on the Immortal Records label . It is considered the band's best-selling album. It went triple platinum in the US.

history

For the recordings of the album, the band rented a house called Stern House in Malibu, California, near Morning View Drive , which is how the album title came about. The recording sessions took place from April to May 2001 with producer Scott Litt . Morning View was the last album with bassist Alex Katunich (who called himself Dirk Lance). Compared to Make Yourself there are clearly more quieter pieces on the album. The album reached No. 2 in the US, in Canada # 3 on the charts. In Germany the album came in at number 27.

reception

The Allmusic website gave the album 4.5 stars out of 5 and listed it as a "selected album" (album pick). Their Svendsen wrote that not all experiments were successful, but on the whole it was a successful successor to Make Yourself and a natural progression for the band.
