Moses Arndt

Moses Arndt (* 18th March 1964 as Michael Arndt in Bexbach , Saarland ) is a German author and publisher in the hardcore punk movement. He was the editor of the hardcore punk fanzine Zap and has been a full-time family doctor since 2007.

Life

After his first own fanzines such as the Vox Vulgi magazine , which Arndt designed himself as a young punk and sold at concerts, he co-founded the Fanzines Trust in 1986 . The American punk fanzine Maximumrocknroll served as a model . At the time Arndt was the singer of the hardcore band Challenger Crew, of which three albums were released. Arndt left the Trust editorial team in 1988 and founded his own fanzine Zap , which was to be formative in the German hardcore scene. He was not only an editor, but also wrote numerous articles, conducted interviews and often appeared in the national media of various kinds. Well-known authors of the Zap were Martin Büsser , Klaus N. Frick and Karl Nagel . The paper was also better known for its journalistic documentation of the Chaostage in Hanover and the punk subculture itself. After the extremely violent chaos of 1995, Moses Arndt appeared on various talk shows such as Boulevard Bio , Live aus dem Schlachthof and Arabella . In 1995 MTV Europe broadcast a “Punk Special” about Europe in which Moses, together with the band Hammerhead and their singer Tobias Scheiße, gave the interview partner. In addition, an interview with Arndt and some other punks on the subject of chaos appeared in Stern in 1995. The idea to publish the Zap weekly failed; The last edition appeared in 1998. Arndt also wrote for magazines such as Spex and Rock Hard .

After a long stay in New York, Arndt opened a piercing and tattoo studio in 1993. In 2000 he began studying medicine. He now has his own doctor's practice; His main areas of activity are laser tattoo removal and subcutaneous use of jewelry. In 2007 he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine (Dr. med.). In addition, he worked as a trained ring doctor at martial arts events such as boxing or muay thai .

His novel Chaostage was published in 2007 by Tarek Ehlail under the title Chaostage - We Are Punks! filmed. He wrote the screenplay for Ehlail's film Gegengerade - Nobody wins at Millerntor from 2010.
