Football section
Isolator Neuhaus-Schierschnitz was founded in 1936 as a works team of Siemens-Schuckertwerke under the name SG Siemens Neuhaus . In contrast to the South Thuringian local rivals of SC 06 Oberlind and 1. FC Sonneberg 04 , Neuhaus-Schierschnitz always played lower class until 1945, and any participation in the Gauliga Mitte did not take place.
In 1945 the association was dissolved and re-established as SG Neuhaus-Schierschnitz . In 1951 the BSG was renamed to Chemie Neuhaus-Schierschnitz , and in 1955 to Motor Neuhaus-Schierschnitz (later also BSG Isolator Neuhaus-Schierschnitz ). In sporting terms, Neuhaus-Schierschnitz was one of the founding members of the third-class district league Suhl, which was founded in 1952 . 1959 drove the BSG in front of Empor Ilmenau and Motor Schmalkalden in the Suhl district championship and rose to the 2nd GDR league . The Thuringians held the third highest division in the GDR for three seasons until it was dissolved in 1963. Subsequently, the BSG was reintegrated into the Suhl district area.
In the following period there was no return to higher-class football, the club, which was renamed SV Isolator in 1990, has been active since then without exception in southern Thuringia local football, currently in the eight-class regional league in southern Thuringia.
