Mount Farrell is a 2600 m high mountain in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . In the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains, it rises immediately northwest of the Dater Glacier and about 21 km east of Mount Shear .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1957 and 1959. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1961 after Lieutenant Lawrence J. Farrell (1934–1959) of the US Navy January 1959 when a UB-1 Otter crashed at Marble Point in East Antarctica Victoria Land.
