Mount Hector is a 2225  m high and snow-covered mountain on the Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . In the southern part of the Trojan Range it rises between Mount Français and Mount Priam .

The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey surveyed the mountain in 1955. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1957 after Hector , a figure from the Iliad by the ancient Greek poet and author Homer .
