Mount Hunter is a 1410 m high mountain on Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . On the Pasteur Peninsula, it rises 6 km west-southwest of Duclaux Point .
The mountain is still unnamed for the first time on an Argentine map from 1953. Aerial photos by Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd. from 1956 to 1957 were used for mapping in 1959. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after the British physician and anatomist John Hunter (1728–1793), the founder of experimental scientific surgery .
