Mount Kinet is a large, rounded and 2,180 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Mountaineer Range it rises 8 km southeast of Hobbie Ridge on the southern flank of the upper Meander Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1969 after Urbain J. Kinet (1909-1989), biologist at McMurdo Station from 1965 to 1966.
