With a height of 4025 m, Mount Lister is the highest mountain in the Royal Society Range in East Antarctic Victoria Land .
He was discovered by participants in the Discovery Expedition (1901-1904) led by the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott , who named him after the physician Joseph Lister, 1st Baron Lister (1827-1912), the President of the Royal Society from 1895 to 1900.
