Mount Poseidon

Mount Poseidon is a 1338  m high mountain on South Georgia in the South Atlantic . It is the central and highest peak of The Trident ridge southeast of the Murray snowfield and the Briggs glacier .

The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2015 after the sea god Poseidon from Greek Greek mythology , and the other peaks of the mountain ridge, Mount Thalassa and Mount Tethys , are named after Greek deities.
