Mount Scherger is a 1522 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . It rises immediately west of Mount McCauley in the southern part of the Prince Charles Mountains .
It was discovered in 1956 during an overflight as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named him after Air Marshal Frederick Rudolph William Scherger (1904-1984), commander in chief of the Royal Australian Air Force between 1957 and 1961.
