Mount Alf is a 3000 m high mountain in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises 3 km southeast of Mount Barden in the northern part of the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains .
It was mapped by the so-called Marie Byrd Land Traverse Party , a team mainly to explore the Marie Byrd Land between 1957 and 1958. This named the mountain after the American glaciologist Robert Philip Sharp (1911-2004), a member of the technical Committee on Glaciology, United States National Committee for the International Geophysical Year (1957–1958).
