Mount Strange is a partially ice-free mountain in Marie-Byrd Land in western Antarctica . In the Kohler Range it rises 6 km east-northeast of Mount Isherwood on the eastern flank of the Simmons Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it using its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1959 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the mountain in 1967 after the topography engineer Joe F. Strange, who was part of the United States Antarctic Research Program was involved in a survey campaign in Marie Byrd Land that lasted from 1966 to 1967.
